Here are a few that have stood out for me:

"Wouldn't you give your heart to a friend, think of me as your friend."
From "Midnight Blue" by Melissa Manchester

"Wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then"
From "Against The Wind" by Bob Seger

Love the idea of the 3 vertical crowns replacing the letter "i". Saw this on a transport truck and it caught my eye right away. Very nice!!

What else can be said about the "I love the A380" extremely clever and very attractive graphic design. Must be one of the top ones of all time in my opinion.

The Canadian Postal Service came-up with an ingenious way of rendering the thought of covering mailboxes with graffiti futile. The Canadian mailboxes used to be all red but now are covered with a design depicting all sorts of postal codes thus making it hard for any graffiti message or design to stand-out. Got them at their own game. Very smart.

<![CDATA[Improved sports box scores]]>Sun, 25 Sep 2011 13:14:30 -0500http://www.ideastorms.com/2/post/2011/09/improved-sports-box-scores.htmlHere's an idea to make attendance figures in sports box scores more relevant. The box scores usually indicate the attendance that was present at the event (ie: 17,145). What would render this more relevant and interestinis the percentage of the stadium or arena capacity that this attendance figure represents. So let's say at a New York Met's home game there were 17,145 people present, and the stadium has a capacity of 45,750, then the attendance firgure for this one game would be shown as (17,400) (37.48%). ]]><![CDATA[Getting more people to go to bookstores]]>Sun, 18 Sep 2011 10:30:23 -0500http://www.ideastorms.com/2/post/2011/09/getting-more-people-to-go-to-bookstores.htmlHad this idea the other day. I think it is pretty neat. It is meant for the big size bookstores and it would probably work in getting more people to visit the stores. How about having a book library service within a book store. A small section of the bookstore could be turned into a library where people could borrow a wide selection of books for let's say up to one month at a time. Of course, these would not include the latest releases. By being in the bookstore, these "book borrowers" would probably also be tempted to buy some other books, or at least get a cup of coffee while there. ]]><![CDATA[Remote controller also designed for the blind and visually impaired.]]>Thu, 08 Sep 2011 07:51:42 -0500http://www.ideastorms.com/2/post/2011/09/remote-controller-also-designed-for-the-blind-and-visually-impaired.htmlI would like to commend a company called Haeir (www.haeir.net), maker of appliances, air conditioners, etc. This past summer I purchased an Haeir air conditioner (the type you fit in a window opening) and noticed that the remote controller supplied with the unit is also embedded with the braille code for the blind or visually impaired so that they can easily operate the air conditioner using the remote controller. A very nice and socially responsible initiative on their part. ]]><![CDATA[Mattress Toppers. What a great idea. No need to change mattress again.]]>Tue, 06 Sep 2011 20:41:33 -0500http://www.ideastorms.com/2/post/2011/09/mattress-toppers-what-a-great-idea-no-need-to-change-mattress-again.htmlWas at Costco today and noticed these mattress toppers made of gel. What a neat idea. No need to change mattress again. And they sell for about $150.00. They're about 2 inches thick and you just put it on top of your existing mattress. I then struck up a conversation with another customer in the store and he told me that he bought a gel mattress topper some 4 years ago and he is still extremely satisfied with it. Why invest in an expensive mattress when you can just buy a mattress topper for about 1/10th the price of a new mattress. ]]><![CDATA[Very clever advertising idea using football field goal nets]]>Sun, 04 Sep 2011 10:22:48 -0500http://www.ideastorms.com/2/post/2011/09/first-post.htmlWas watching a NCAA college football game last night when I saw the field goal net go up like I've seen millions of times in other football games but this one had something particular about it. There was an advertising design embedded in the net for the Allstate Insurance company. My reaction was "WOW", why didn't I think of that?!?! Now this is another example of very clever and creative thinking. This one simple idea will probably generate millions of dollars in additional advertising revenue for football clubs all around America. ]]>
